Week 2 of Nach Baliye 3 – Rakhi is back!
September 29th, 2007
2nd week of Nach Baliye and its still “Thanda” in Malaika’s style. Really, I am missing Malaika and Saroj Khan very much. I think instead of Isha Koppikar, the Nach Baliye team should have picked Sridevi. This year it’s No fun at all!!! For price money of 20 lacs and chevrolet car, the couples have to put extra efforts. It was a Fusion theme for the performers. And also today it was a repetition of last two Nach Baliye, first when Kiran Janjani forgot her steps like Varun Badola in first season of Nach Baliye and second when Jodi No. 5(Vikas Sethi and Amita Sethi) did their dance act exactly like last years Manav and Shweta Gohil. Same stone image concept and ...

Indian Torchbearer for Beijing Olympics 2008
September 28th, 2007
OK, let’s help our four Indians, now living in China, Meena Barot (35), Prithviraj P (40), Vipul Joshi (27) and Senthil Nachiappan (37), to become Olympic torchbearers for the Beijing Olympics at the opening ceremony of the games, from August 8 to 24, 2008. Atleast one of them should hold the Torch on behalf of each and every India. The contest Expats for Olympic Torchbearers is organised by Lenovo, a personal computer manufacturer. The advertisement says: Lenovo Group along with China Daily will launch the Lenovo-sponsored Olympic torchbearer nominee selection among foreigners living in China, in an effort to seek people who embody the Olympic spirit of constant exploration and striving for ...

Joke of the day – Shilpa Shetty arrested!!!
September 27th, 2007
Yes it’s a joke, how we Indians portray ourselves in modern world with a very open minded attitude. Where we appreciate a women talking about Aids (Shilpa Shetty) in a huge gathering of truck drivers, and on other hand we try to pull her down and insult her by calling her an uncultured Indian, whereas its not her fault if she was kissed (on cheeks) by Richard Gere. Is she not already embarrassed enough by that kiss? We really are a bunch of hypocrites. Shilpa Shetty shed tears after being stopped at Mumbai Airport by immigration officials who had no record of a Supreme Court ruling which overturned a ban on her leaving the country. They said she was still wanted ...

Shameless Limelight Hungry Politicians Hijacked Victory March and Celebrations
September 27th, 2007
Moment of Glory for men in blue hijacked by BCCI officials and Politicians. BCCI Officials and Politicians made it like a Political Rally, what was meant to be the felicitation ceremony for the Twenty20 World Cup champions. It was expected that Dhoni and his boys would take centrestage, but BCCI officials and Politicians placed themselves on the front row, completely overshadowing the proud winners of the trophy. If that was enough, RR Patil and Sharad Pawar started glorifying Maharastra in their speech, as if it was Maharastra team who won the world cup. RR Patil went a step ahead and said, "Sharad Pawar should be credited with the victory". Someone should ask him, "Did he select the team or he bowled out Pakistanis in the Final?" ...

The Magic of "Chak De India"
September 25th, 2007
Lately, India had lot of success in sports. Is it really the magic of "Chak De India"?  First it was Football, then Hockey and now Cricket. The magic started with the Indian football team creating history after lifting their first ever Nehru Cup title with a 1-0 win over a 10-man Syria in a tough final played in Delhi. Next in Hockey, when India retained Asia Cup beating South Korea 7-2 in a hard fought final in Chennai, and Now Cricket, India beat Pakistan in the World Twenty20 final by five runs to clinch their first major trophy since 1983.  The title song of the Bollywood hit movie "Chak De India" is now an integral part of Indian sport.

Eklavya : India’s Official Entry for Oscars
September 24th, 2007
"Blatant misuse of power" - Pahlaj Nihalani Eklavya will be India's official entry for the prestigious Oscar awards. The decision to nominate Eklavya as the Indian entry for the awards was announced by Film Federation of India President Vinod Pande. The other films where were considered for official entry are hugely-popular Chak De India, Gandhi My Father and Guru. This is the third time that a film by Vidhu Vinod Chopra will be going to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. His short non-fiction film "An Encounter with Faces" was one of the first Indian films to be nominated for an Oscar in 1980. In 1989, "Parinda" was sent to the Oscars as India's official entry. Pahlaj Nihalani, President of ...

India : Twenty20 World Cup Champion
September 24th, 2007
India won the electrifying final by 5 runs. You can't ask for more from a GRAND Final. The match was full of ups and downs. It brought a hugely entertaining tournament to a fitting climax, which was always likely - after all, the teams tied their group game. Earlier today, India won the toss and decided to bat, and managed to post only 157 with the help of magnificent inning of Gautam Gambhir who scored 75 from 54 balls and Rohit Sharma who scored 30 runs from 16 balls. Pakistan started their chase positively with 21 runs from first over of Sreensanth, but RP Singh had something else in his mind and he keep on taking wickets before Irfan Pathan broke the ...

Dream Final of Cricket Tournament : India Vs Pakistan
September 23rd, 2007
The Biggest match of Cricket History on the Biggest stage. Anyone can feel the magnitude and intensity of "India Vs Pakistan" in World Cup Final. This is a final not many would have imagined. The tournament has got the best possible climax. The sub-continental rivalry has the right combination of history, piquancy and edge to add up to a thriller. With the ignominious "first-round exits" from the World Cup of 50-over version in West Indies just six months ago, who would have thought that India and Pakistan can set up a dream final at the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa. India defeated Australia by 15 runs in a thrilling floodlit semi-final, just couple of hours after Pakistan had overcome New Zealand by six wickets, to send ...

Kashmira and Krishna – Nach Baliye 3
September 22nd, 2007
Let me be very true to myself and with all the peoples who were waiting for Nach Baliye 3 to start. The show started yesterday, and the day was like a countdown for me. I was waiting for it from long-long time. I know like me thousands of Indian people across the world were waiting anxiously for the show to start (according to the comments I received). People from US were asking me where they can watch Nach Baliye online, to them my answer is on “”. The show started with a beautiful couple on the stage - winner of last year Nach Baliye and my favourite Hussain and Tina. Looking lovely and gorgeous, Hussain just couldn’t get enough of ...
