Koffee with Karan – "Koffee Awards 2007"

September 17th, 2007

End of season 2 of Koffee with Karan. Wait a minute, I was expecting it to end with Abhishek and Aishwarya’s episode, what happened to that?

Anyway I had fun watching “Koffee Awards 2007”, it was lovely to go down the memory lane and watch the bits and pieces from all the episodes of KWK. The season saw not only the who’s who of Bollywood spill the beans, but also biggies from the corporate world, television industry and even Hollywood. With the second season of Koffee with Karan, Karan made us laugh and also gave us an inside look into the lives  of India’s very biggest celebrities.

The guests on Karan’s show sure look super sexy and hot! And the credit must go to the host himself as he says, “I want the girls to look stunning and the men to come looking brilliantly well-groomed. There is an elaborate process for the women. There is a make-up artist, there is hair, the costume designer, then there are bags coming from Louis Vuitton, there is jewellery coming in.”

This season, show was full of controversies and famous one liners, like Kareena Kapoor referring to John Abraham as expressionless, Rakhi Sawant confessing that, “Jo cheesein God nahi deta, woh Doctor deta hai”, or Mallika Sherawat telling  Karan that she would want Saif Ali Khan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan to cook for her, serve her and pamper her, or Farah Khan’s confession that she’s a man.

Coming to the point, Awards night was wonderful. Karan was very proud to present the Koffee Awards 2007! And yes, like he said he had super talented and very good-looking jury to help him: fashion legend Rohit Bal, yummy mummy Malaika Arora and the funny man Cyrus Broacha.

I reckon Karan should have had Manish Malhotra (most of the dresses design by him for the show) instead of Rohit Bal and why was Cyrus Broacha there, doing nothing just talking about his purple kurta. The only right person was Malaika Arora Khan, and she did dominate both the men’s. She was bang on, looking sexy. Karan also narrates a poem for her – “Sexy can be your middle name and you can put every living mother to shame”.

I don’t have any complains with the nominations and winners of the award, everything was fair, there was no biased decisions. Only few I think was unfair. The trophy “cup and saucer” was gorgeous.

Well! The real winner was Shahrukh Khan who bagged three Cup&Saucer and the second winner was Rakhi Sawant with two Cup&Saucer.

Categories and winners of Koffee awards 2007:

  1. […] of her, she is giving complex to all the mothers in and outside of Bollywood. Last night on the finale episode of Koffee with Karan, Karan narrated a poem for Malaika which I think is very true – “Sexy can be your middle name […]

  2. I complete agree with you Sheetal on account of Lara Dutta and Akshaye Khanna, but I don’t agree that awards were not biased. All of them were biased, if not biased then they were unintelligent in taking the decision.

For the best supporting guest – Rohil and Malaika were looking at the glamorous factor rather than entertainment factor. Neetu Kapoor was more interesting than Karishma. How they thought of Shahrukh Khan and Vijay Mallya for glamorous guest, they should have unanimously decided for Hrithik Roshan.

Malaika was unnecessarily arguing for the Sanjay Dutt episode against Kapoor Brothers which is definitely the best episode among all the KWK episodes( including first season).

I was very touched with Karan inviting Rakhi Sawant when nobody in industry like her. You may have noticed some not so good comments about her on the KWK show as well. She deserve some respect, even though she is moohphat.

I don’t know about the others but my favorite episodes were Akshaye Khanna, Lara Dutta and Kapoor Brothers.

I would definitely miss Koffee with Karan.

  3. YEAH! u rock SRK!!! im just happy he got so many awards! luv u!
    ur BIGGEST fan,
    maliha

    im gonna miss KWK!!!

  4. The show was boring and judges had no chemistry. Karan was constantly reminding that we are judging the winner on the basis of the show. Bunch of Dumbos. Karan should have gone for the public voting instead of inviting Rohit, Malaika and Cyrus.

  5. Rakesh:

Completely agree with u, public voting would have been best. And all my votes would have gone to Hrithik Roshan, Akshaye Khanna, Madhuri Dixit and Kapoor Brothers.

  6. I never miss KWK.. its one of my favourite show..Malaika’s judgement was too good.. Kareena Kapoor on the show spoke her out.. we got to know about so many celebreties
