Jose Mourinho resigns as Chelsea manager. The Club has confirmed the reports and made an official statement on its website at around 2 am. The Chelsea statement says, "Chelsea Football Club and José Mourinho have agreed to part company today (Thursday) by mutual consent". India to Host First Formula One Race in 2010

The wait for an F1 race in India just got longer. It is now going to make its debut in India in 2010, and not in October 2009 as announced earlier in June. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) said on Monday it was on course to stage a Formula One grand prix after an inspection of possible sites around New Delhi. Two sites, Sohna in Gurgaon and Greater Noida have been identified for the race - both sites are in the National Capital Region. The sites were shortlisted after F1 chief architect Herman Tilke's recent visit to India.     Karun Chandhok became the first Indian driver to win a GP2 Series event. Karun Chandhok has taken an emotional victory in Spa-Francorchamps for Durango, the first indian ever in the GP2 Series and Durango’s first win since Nurburgring 2005. A clearly overwhelmed Karun wept on the podium as the Indian national anthem rang out for the first time at a Grand Prix.   McLaren have been stripped of their points and disqualified from the 2007 Formula One constructors’ championship. What is Formula One Spygate?  The Formula One Spygate is all about whether McLaren had confidential information that details exactly how the Ferrari team were running their season; the car, the tactics, and what they were going to do. The suggestion is that Nigel Stepney, a very senior engineer at Ferrari, passed a dossier of data plus other bits and pieces to McLaren's chief designer, Mike Coughlan. F1 Spygate - Mclaren Disqualified From 2007 Constructors’ Championship

McLaren have been stripped of their points in the 2007 Formula One constructors' championship. The FIA World Motor Sport Council has disqualified McLaren from the 2007 constructors' championship and fined the team $100 million, which is a biggest fine in motorsport history. After a day of discussions and considerations at the hearing in Paris, the governing body decided to punish the team for possessing the confidential Ferrari data. The decision to exclude Mclaren, who were leading the Constructors' Championship with 166 points results in handing over the title to Ferrari who has got 143 points.  However, McLaren's drivers have not received any penalty. BCCI Under Anti-Monopoly Watchdog MRTPC Scanner - ICL Happy

The war between Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and rival Indian Cricket League (ICL) has taken a new twist with anti-monopoly watchdog Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission (MRTPC) initiating an investigation against the cricket board for threatening players with a life-term ban on joining the Subhash Chandra-promoted league. On the basis of the reports published in newspapers, MRTPC has directed its investigative arm, the Director General of Investigation and Registration (DGIR), to look into threats by the BCCI to players who join ICL. The Liquor Baron, Vijay Mallya, chairman and CEO of Kingfisher Airlines and Dutch entrepreneur Michiel Mol look set to become the new owners of the Spyker Formula One team, which was bought from the Midland Group only a year ago by sportscar makers Spyker Cars. Strongwind, Mol’s investment arm, and Watson Limited – owned by Mallya – have made the offer. Spyker F1 is owned by Dutch sportscar maker Spyker Cars, who acquired the Formula One team from Midland (MF1) for $106.6 million last year.
