Slumdog Millionaire fame Freida Pinto has landed a role as the new Bond girl. According to UK tabloid “The Mirror”,  Freida Pinto is set to sign the deal worth £3 million, to feature alongside Daniel Craig in the 23rd instalment of 007 series, which will be directed by Sam Mendes. The new Bond movie, due to begin production later this summer, will be shot in Buckinghamshire's Pinewood studios and on location in the Afghan capital Kabul. From the studio that gave us Sin City, comes the fifth film in the Predator franchise. There's no Arnold Schwarzenegger (Predator) or Danny Glover (Predator 2), but there is Laurence Fishburne and Adrien Brody looking very scared in new Predator. The gist of the plot is that a group of criminals have been abducted by the Predators and beamed onto a lush-green planet far out in space. It's essentially the thermal-vision-loving hunters' game reserve – and it's humans that are the game. They will not only be scrapping with the Predators we've become familiar with from previous films, but also an 'updated, nastier, meaner breed' according to producer Robert Rodriguez. Actress Mandakini who gained fame with film “Ram Teri Ganga Maili” and later on for having an affair with underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim is trying her luck to enter bollywood. The former actress is now ready to co-direct an English film with her husband, Dr. Kagyur Rinpoche. Incidentally, Rinpoche, who was earlier a close associate of the Dalai Lama, was a monk for a major part of his life before he got married to Mandakini. The film titled “The Lost Country” is based on the current issues between China and Tibet. Unfortunately the much talked ad and the hype it has created about Arjun doing an international project is all a damp squid. Ad is all about Nicole Kidman and Arjun is just seen for 1 second in the end. Ad product and concept are both mismatch, Nicole Kidman unzip for Arjun Rampal or a bottle of Schweppes? Ad is nonsense and had left me bit confused, but very happy to see Rubina getting more work and exposure.  

Looking completely different and a super model, Frieda Pinto is riding high! Freida is cashing on her newly acquired fame and name, the girl is not leaving any opportunity to be in limelight. Already famous for her excellent dressing sense, she is now the girl of the high fashion magazine “Vanity Fair – The Vanities Girls Section”. I Watched Slumdog Millionaire yesterday and do I have to say the movie is wonderful, No! Winner of 4 Golden Globe Awards, movie speaks for itself. It is based on the book Q and A written by Indian author and diplomat Vikas Swarup. Loveleen Tandan began as the film's casting director and was later appointed by Boyle as a "co-director (India)". Each and every character of the film from young kids to grown up adults have done justice to their roles. Best and talented actors of the movie are the young kids who played Salim, Jamal and Latika. They were superb and so real, little Salim and Jamal were mind blowing and gave me  goosebumps. ...
