Bikini clad snow sculpture

March 5th, 2010

Last January during the heavy snowfall, Maria Conneran and her family created a realistic bust of the newly elected President Barack Obama. This year they worked hard to create their armless, nude snow lady in the front garden of their home in Rahway, New Jersey. They called the nude sculpture a chilly version of the Venus de Milo.

But the neighbours of Marie Conneran did not welcome the nude sculpture and complaint the police about it. Police sent a patrolman to the Conneran home after receiving an anonymous complaint ‘of a naked snow woman’. Elisa Gonzalez, a court reporter who built the snow goddess with her daughter Maria, 21, and son Jack Shearing, 12, was shocked after being asked to cover up her nude sculpture’s assets.

The family complied by dressing her in a green bikini top and a blue sarong around her hips.

Elisa Gonzalez said:
“She was curvaceous, bodacious and booty-luscious. But she had a six-pack! Our snow lady looked like marble. It looked like a statue. But I think she is looking more objectified and sexualised after putting the bikini on her.”

The icy goddess, which was visible from the roadside, had attracted admiring glances from passing motorists.

  1. I think people need to get a life! This was a wonderful work of art and someone felt the need to complain. Small minds, guess they’ve never been to an art museum.
