Even though decades have passed since Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha sizzled on screen the stuff of their chemistry continues to excite Indians, so naturally when we caught Rekha and Jaya Bachchan in a Silisila-esque moment at the Fair One Filmfare Awards, the photographers went berserk. Incidentally while we are on Silsila, that was indeed the last time (1981) that the two actress shared a camera frame before this picture was clicked. While Jaya Bachchan has never really spoken about Rekha the latter has often gushed about her didibhai, as she refers to Jaya.

On the same topic, don’t know whether it’s the double standards or plain appreciation for the people involved – till date neither the public nor the media have ever ridiculed or taunted Amitabh Bachchan – Rekha – Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan love triangle. Inspite of an extra marital affair, desi-junta still considers Amitabh and Rekha to be the ultimate Bollywood couple.

On the other hand, unlike majority of Bollywood’s real-life couples – neither of the parties involved in this triangle ever accused or bitched about one another in front of our news-hungry media. Till date, be it Rekha or Amitabh always have dignified words and graceful smiles for each other.
