Mumbai under terrorist attack

Heartfelt condolences and salute to our each and every extremely talented and braveheart men who have lost their lives to save ours and our Mumbai city!

Three top most officials killed while fighting terrorists in Mumbai attacks on 26th November 2008.

Anti-Terrorism Squad chief Hemant Karkare, who was probing the Malegaon blast case, and another senior IPS officer were among three officials killed on Wednesday night in separate encounters with terrorists who struck at various places across the city. 54-year-old Karkare was killed when he was leading an operation at hotel Taj against terrorists who had taken 15 people, including seven foreigners, as hostages. The 1982 batch IPS officer had returned to his state cadre after serving for seven years in Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) at Austria.

Another IPS officer Ashok Marutirao Kamte, a 1989 batch IPS officer was killed while fighting terrorists at Metro Cinema in the city along with encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar.

Sandeep who led the operation in Taj fell to the terrorist bullet while trying save a compatriot. Sandeep was brought up in Bangalore as his father K Unnikrishnan was working with Indian Space Research organization there. Only son of his parents, Sandeep is survived by wife Neha besides father and mother Dhanalakshmi who live in their newly built house in ISRO Layout, Akashvihar, Yelahanka in Bangalore.

The March 17, 1977, born Sandeep had his schooling from Frank Anthony Public School in Bangalore. After passing out of the National Defence Academy, he was commissioned in the 7th Battalion of Bihar Regiment in 1999. He was deputed to NSG in January 2007.

Mumbaikers or India will never surrender and feel threaten by any coward terrorist attacks!
