{"id":61,"date":"2006-11-12T07:43:00","date_gmt":"2006-11-12T07:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheetudeep.com\/blogs\/?p=61"},"modified":"2010-03-23T22:23:07","modified_gmt":"2010-03-23T22:23:07","slug":"prawn-curry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sheetudeep.com\/blog\/lifestyle\/recipes\/prawn-curry\/","title":{"rendered":"Prawn curry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">Ingredients<\/span><br \/>\n1\/2 kg tiger prawns<br \/>\n3-4 onions (sliced finely)<br \/>\n1 tsp turmeric powder<br \/>\n1-2 tsps red chilli powder<br \/>\n1 tsp garam masala<br \/>\nSalt to taste<br \/>\nOne small piece of jaggery<br \/>\n2-3 tablespoons of tamarind water<br \/>\n2-3 tablespoons of oil<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">To grind in a paste<\/span><br \/>\n1 piece ginger<br \/>\n3-4 pieces of garlic<br \/>\n3 green chilies<br \/>\n1 bunch coriander leaves<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">Method<\/span><br \/>\nGrind ginger, garlic, green chilies and coriander leaves in a fine paste.<br \/>\nClean the prawns but retain the shell.<br \/>\nMix sliced onions, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and garam masala.<br \/>\nMix the above to the paste.<br \/>\nIn a kadai, heat the oil and add the onions plus masala mixture; saut\u00c3\u00a9 till golden brown. When the masala is cooked and lets out an aroma, add the tiger prawns (with shells). Add some water and jaggery to add flavour.<br \/>\nCover and simmer till the prawns are cooked. Add some tamarind water and mix well.<br \/>\nGarnish with coriander leaves.
