Rejected by the Graham Ford<\/a>, The Board of Cricket Control of India, BCCI, has advertised for position of “Team India Coach” for a two year term on the websites of few Cricket Boards. <\/p>\n

Suffered by the Greg Chappel’s lack of India’s culture values, BCCI has added a pre-requisites of familiarity with the country’s “culture and ethos”. BCCI has listed a wide range of responsibilities and skills required for the high-profile job which are given below. <\/p>\n

I KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/b> <\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Working closely with the Selection Committee and interacting periodically with the Review Committee to be set up by the Board.\n
  2. Should have the ability to plan and manage programs for the elite cricketers\n
  3. Should be capable of building positive relations with the public and media<\/strong>.\n
  4. Should be capable of motivating players and thus helping them to optimize their performances at all times.\n
  5. Should be familiar with the use of performance analysis software packages<\/strong>.\n
  6. Should be available to conduct clinics and workshops for the local coaches\n
  7. Should have excellent communicating skills<\/strong> as he is required to communicate at different levels  like players, team management, selectors and the Board\n
  8. Should be capable  of providing the team with tactical expertise<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    II KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND  EXPERTISE<\/b> <\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Should  be a qualified coach with minimum level III coaching accreditation from Cricket Australia<\/strong>, England or India\n
    2. Should have played at least level of First Class cricket.\n
    3. Extensive coaching experience and expertise in working with elite cricketers\n
    4. Should possess basic IT skills<\/strong> to be able to operate the match analysis program\n
    5. Should have been a coach of an international or national team or a coach at an elite Coaching Centre of international repute\n
    6. Should have basic knowledge of Indian cricket, Indian player pathway and Indian culture and ethos<\/strong>\n
    7. Should have basic knowledge of Sports Science and Sports Medicine\n
    8. Should be capable of handling the team under high pressure situations\n
    9. Should possess outstanding organizational skills\n
    10. Should have knowledge of the international coaching trends\n
    11. Should have experience in using the video technology.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      III GENERAL INFORMATION<\/b> <\/p>\n

      1. The appointment as coach shall be for a period of two years, starting from October 1, 2007.\n
      2. The job requires a great deal of time away from home traveling with the Indian team both in India and Abroad\n
      3. Terms and conditions are negotiable<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
