{"id":57,"date":"2006-10-29T13:39:00","date_gmt":"2006-10-29T13:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheetudeep.com\/blogs\/?p=57"},"modified":"2010-03-23T22:23:58","modified_gmt":"2010-03-23T22:23:58","slug":"prune-and-spinach-kebab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sheetudeep.com\/blog\/lifestyle\/recipes\/prune-and-spinach-kebab\/","title":{"rendered":"Prune and spinach kebab"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>8 prunes<br \/>\n2 medium bundles spinach<br \/>\n8 baby tomatoes<br \/>\n2 tbsp oil + to shallow fry<br \/>\n2 medium onions, chopped<br \/>\n4 green chillies, chopped<br \/>\n1 tbsp ginger paste<br \/>\n1 tbsp garlic paste<br \/>\nSalt to taste<br \/>\n2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bd tsp garam masala powder<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bd tsp chaat masala<br \/>\n2-3 tbsp cornflour<\/p>\n<p>Blanch spinach in boiling hot water for a minute and then refresh in cold water. Chop roughly. Stuff each prune with a baby tomato and set aside.<br \/>\nHeat oil in pan. Add onions and saut\u00c3\u00a9 for two to three minutes. Add green chillies, ginger paste and garlic paste and saut\u00c3\u00a9 for two minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add spinach and mix well. Add salt, mix and remove from heat.<br \/>\nPut the spinach mixture in a bowl. Add mashed potatoes, salt, garam masala powder and chaat masala and mix well. Add cornflour and mix.  Divide into eight equal portions. Stuff each portion with a prune (stuffed with baby tomato) and shape into a tikki.<\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in a frying pan and place the stuffed tikkis. Shallow fry, turning sides, till both the sides are evenly browned.
