The anonymous writer of the well known blog “The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs”<\/a>  has been unmasked. Daniel Lyons, a senior editor at Forbes, admitted to writing as Fake Steve after a New York Times reported the resemblances found between the blog and Lyons’ published work. <\/p>\n

Despite the unmasking, the diary will continue but on the Forbes website. Forbes.com confirmed the Times’ account and posted an audio interview with Lyons <\/p>\n

Lyons said, <\/p>\n

I was hoping to stay anonymous for a while longer but on the other hand I knew I couldn’t stay anonymous forever. It had to happen at some point. I hope that it doesn’t ruin the fun of the blog that people know who’s behind it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Lyons said he had had to buy books and biographies to “learn about a lot of the back story” of Apple. <\/p>\n

The journalist has used the blog to poke fun at many different figures in the technology industry, including Oracle’s Larry Ellison, Bill Gates, and Google’s Eric Schmidt. <\/p>\n

It has been read by leading industry figures such as Bill Gates, who joked in May when he was introduced at a conference alongside the real Jobs: “First, I want to clarify, I’m not Fake Steve Jobs.”<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
