{"id":32,"date":"2006-05-12T09:03:00","date_gmt":"2006-05-12T09:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheetudeep.com\/blogs\/?p=32"},"modified":"2010-03-24T17:48:40","modified_gmt":"2010-03-24T17:48:40","slug":"food-for-kids-corn-sev-puri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sheetudeep.com\/blog\/lifestyle\/recipes\/food-for-kids-corn-sev-puri\/","title":{"rendered":"Food for Kids &#8211; Corn Sev Puri"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Serves four<br \/>\nBaking temperature: 200\u00c2\u00b0C (400\u00c2\u00b0F)<br \/>\nBaking time: 15 minutes<br \/>\nCooking time: 20 minutes<br \/>\nPreparation time: 5 minutes<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight:bold;\"><br \/>\nFor the baked papdis<\/span><br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bd cup whole-wheat flour<br \/>\n1 teaspoon oil<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bc teaspoon salt<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight:bold;\"><br \/>\nTo be mixed together into a corn topping:<\/span><br \/>\n1 cup boiled yellow corn kernels<br \/>\n1 cup chopped spring onion<br \/>\n2 green chillies, finely chopped<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bd cup finely chopped tomatoes,<br \/>\n1 teaspoon chaat masala<br \/>\n2 teaspoons lemon juice<br \/>\nSalt to taste<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight:bold;\"><br \/>\nFor the tomato chutney:<\/span><br \/>\n2 medium sized tomatoes<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bc teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)<br \/>\na pinch asafoetida (hing)<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bd teaspoon grated garlic<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bd teaspoon chilli powder<br \/>\n1 teaspoon sugar<br \/>\n1 teaspoon oil<br \/>\nSalt to taste<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight:bold;\"><br \/>\nOther ingredients:<\/span><br \/>\n1 cup sev<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bc cup fresh pomegranate<br \/>\n2 tablespoons chopped coriander<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight:bold;\"><br \/>\nFor the baked papdis:<\/span><br \/>\nMix the flour, oil and salt. Add water and knead into a firm dough. Knead for two minutes and keep aside.<br \/>\nDivide the dough into 24 portions.<br \/>\nRoll out into thin puris and prick with a fork.<br \/>\nArrange the puris on a lightly greased baking tray.<br \/>\nBake in a hot oven at 200\u00c2\u00b0C (400\u00c2\u00b0F) for 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">For the tomato chutney:<\/span><br \/>\nBlanch the tomatoes in hot water. Peel and pur\u00c3\u00a9e in a liquidiser.<br \/>\nHeat the oil in a pan, add the ajwain and asafoetida and saut\u00c3\u00a9 for 30 seconds.<br \/>\nAdd the garlic and saut\u00c3\u00a9 for a few seconds.<br \/>\nAdd the tomatoes, chilli powder and salt and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or till the oil has separated.
