{"id":30,"date":"2006-05-12T08:51:00","date_gmt":"2006-05-12T15:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheetudeep.com\/blogs\/?p=30"},"modified":"2010-07-30T21:49:44","modified_gmt":"2010-07-30T21:49:44","slug":"food-for-kids-burger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sheetudeep.com\/blog\/lifestyle\/recipes\/food-for-kids-burger\/","title":{"rendered":"Food for Kids &#8211; Burger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re worried that your kids survive on fast food, turning up their nose at healthy food, Here&#8217;s menu of healthy junk food that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s low in calories, easy-to-cook and good to eat.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">Whole Wheat Vegetable Burger<\/span><br \/>\nMakes six burgers.<br \/>\nCooking time: 5 minutes<br \/>\nPreparation time: 15 minutes<br \/>\nFor the burger: 6 brown bread buns<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">For the cutlets:<\/span><br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bd cup broken wheat (dalia)<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00be cup grated carrot<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bd cup finely chopped onions<br \/>\n1\/3 cup finely chopped mushrooms<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bd cup grated low fat paneer<br \/>\n1 tablespoon soya sauce<br \/>\n1 tablespoon chilli sauce<br \/>\n2 tablespoons whole wheat flour<br \/>\nSalt and pepper to taste<br \/>\n1\u00c2\u00bd teaspoons oil for cooking<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">For the filling:<\/span><br \/>\n12 lettuce leaves<br \/>\n6 onion slices<br \/>\n12 cucumber slices<br \/>\n12 tomato slices<br \/>\n2 teaspoons tomato ketchup mixed with 1 teaspoon chilli sauce (optional)<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00bd cup low calorie thousand island dressing<br \/>\nMustard sauce to taste<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">For the cutlets:<\/span><br \/>\nClean and wash the broken wheat thoroughly. Soak it in one cup of hot water for 15 minutes. Drain out the water and discard.<br \/>\nCombine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.<br \/>\nDivide the mixture into 6 equal parts and shape into patties.<br \/>\nCook on a non-stick pan using a little oil till both the sides are golden brown.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">Method:<\/span><br \/>\nSlice each bun into two and toast lightly in an oven or on a tava.<br \/>\nOn each cut portion of the buns, apply a little mustard sauce and a little tomato ketchup.<br \/>\nSpread some of the low calorie thousand island dressing on top.<br \/>\nArrange two lettuce leaves, one cutlet, one onion slice, two cucumber slices and two tomato slices and cover with the remaining part of the bun.<br \/>\nServe immediately.<\/p>\n<p>Energy per burger &#8211; 274 calories<br \/>\nFat per burger &#8211; 3.2 gm<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re worried that your kids survive on fast food, turning up their nose at healthy food, Here&#8217;s menu of healthy junk food that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s low in calories, easy-to-cook and good to eat.
