{"id":170,"date":"2007-03-31T14:52:46","date_gmt":"2007-03-31T14:52:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheetudeep.com\/blogs\/?p=170"},"modified":"2010-03-23T22:17:47","modified_gmt":"2010-03-23T22:17:47","slug":"spinach-and-beansprout-soup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sheetudeep.com\/blog\/lifestyle\/recipes\/spinach-and-beansprout-soup\/","title":{"rendered":"Spinach and Beansprout Soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2 bunches spinach, shredded<br \/>\n1\/2 cup bean sprouts<br \/>\n1 teaspoon butter<br \/>\n1 bay leaf<br \/>\n1\/2 onion, chopped<br \/>\n2 stalks celery, chopped<br \/>\nSalt to taste<br \/>\nWhite pepper powder, to taste<br \/>\n1 teaspoon fresh cream<\/p>\n<p>Melt butter in a saucepan and add bay leaf, chopped onion, chopped celery and saut\u00c3\u00a9 until onion is transparent.<br \/>\nAdd spinach, stir for a minute, add half of the bean sprouts and stir well.<br \/>\nAdd four cups of water and cook till spinach is done without getting discoloured.<br \/>\nRemove, cool and strain, do not discard the liquid. Remove the bay leaf and puree the spinach till smooth.<br \/>\nPut it back in the pan. Add only as much liquid as needed to get the correct consistency.<br \/>\nReheat and add salt, white pepper powder and remaining bean sprouts.
