The Bachchan parivar is very upset and angry,  are not attending the 55th FilmFare Awards in protest of the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153false\u00e2\u20ac\u009d report published in Mumbai Mirror, a Mumbai based tabloid about bahu Aishwarya Rai\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s health. The tabloid and Filmfare both belong to the same publishing group, who are organising the award ceremony. Aishwarya, who was to perform at the awards, has pulled out from the event and returned 85 lacks to the organisers. The Bachchans have served a legal notice to the newspaper and are demanding a public apology. Supporting Bachchan family\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s stand, even the director R. Balakrishnan who had made \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcPaa\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 with Amitabh and Abishek has decided to stay away from the event.<\/p>\n

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been trying to become a mother for some time now. The fact that she has so far not gotten pregnant is actually a cause for concern for the entire Bachchan parivar.<\/p>\n

According to a close family friend, though outwardly the family may have taken the when-it-happens-it-will-happen stand, but within, there\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a very ardent desire to have an heir for the family as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

Mr Bachchan is especially sold on a grandson, but when asked about it he says, as usual, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153When it happens, it will happen.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

But the question that is really bothers the family and their close friends is – when? After all, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s no secret that Aishwarya is 37, and she isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t getting any younger.<\/p>\n

But it now comes to light that the reason for her inability to bear a child at the moment is because she has been suffering from stomach tuberculosis for a while. Says a source, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The medication Aishwarya is taking for her stomach ailment is hampering her from getting pregnant. Until the tuberculosis is fully cured, she is unlikely to risk a pregnancy.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

On his blog, an anguished Amitabh Bachchan has written about \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcthe rich man\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s TB\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, dispelling the myth that the disease only afflicts the less privileged. Now that the supposed reason for the delay in her pregnancy is clearer, we can only hope and pray that the Bachchan bahu speedily recovers from the ailment and fulfills her ardent desire to become a mother. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

I read your article ‘Pregnant Pause’ in your paper Mumbai Mirror on page 27 on February 18, 2010.<\/p>\n

I am completely shocked, appalled and extremely upset with the contents of the article. I completely deny the report. It is fabricated and false. It is very disappointing that your office did not even bother to verify this article with me, my family, my spokesperson or my office. I would think it only ethical and correct to get the person in question’s side of the story or verification before printing such news. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
