My Ideal Indian Test Team is;Gavaskar,Merchant,Dravid,Tendulkar,Hazare,Mankad,Kapil,Engineer,Prassana,Gupte and Gupte.12th man;L.Amarsinh.Gavaskar will be the Captain.
My Ideal one day Team is;Tendulkar,Ganguli.Sehvag,Azhar,Dravid,Kapil,Dhoni,Kumble,Pathan,Zaheer and Srinath Kapil will be the Captain while Amarnath,Yuvraj and Shastri will be re.player.

12TH MAN – ROBIN SINGH(as 12th man can only field and India’s best fielder till date is Robin Singh).

This line up has a good combination with batting line going up to number 8. A world class wicket keeper and a good combination of fast and spin bowling. This looks a very balanced side to me.

Just look at the sheer depth in batting with a genuine all rounder like Kapil coming in at Number 8 and also the variety in bowling attack with 3 good medium fast bowlers and 2 quality spinners in Vinoo Mankad and Chandrasekhar.

At the top, you have the explosive fire power of Sehwag in partnership with the great technician Sunil Gavaskar.

And the middle order of Dravid, Tendulkar and Laxman has the experience of almost 30,000 runs in test cricket.

This formidable middle order is backed up by the all rounders Mankad, Kapil and Dhoni.

As for the bowling attack, no matter what the nature of wicket, this attack has enough variety to test the best batsmen of all time, on any wicket in any conditions.

In any case, 3 fast bowlers and 2 spinners (one left arm spinner and one leg spinner) is always an ideal bowling attack. Plus, the captain also has the luxury of part time bowling of Sachin and Sehwag, if needed.
