Google Gmail is soon launching a new feature for sharing content and status updates with friends, just like Twitter and Facebook. With the growing popularity of social networking sites and Orkut, Google’s social networking site, losing its shine to Facebook and twitter in India and Brazil, Google was in desperate need to come up with some idea to keep its hold on social networking market. Despite the Google brand attached to it, Orkut never picked the market outside  Brazil, India and some other Asian countries.

Later this week may be Tuesday, Google will unveil its new feature added to Gmail that let people post and view messages about their day-to-day activities. To date, Google has let people post only a brief message about their status through its Chat system, which is linked to Gmail. The new features would allow a more vibrant back-and-forth among Gmail users.

Facebook is celebrating its 6^th birthday with a brand new redesign homepage. The website’s new face is being steadily rolled out today and many users should have some access by tonight.

The new format focuses more on search and real-time chatting by showing a list of friends who are also online. The focus of the site shifts also onto the left side of the page, with most links on side bar.

Privacy settings have been adapted to allow users to prevent others seeing their applications use.

Applications and gaming are being pushed as a new way for users to interact and find new information from each other. As gaming surge on the website, new games and applications shortcuts will be available. Much of the focus will be on more use of applications and real-time updates on what ones your friends are using.

The Internal Bra System is a breast-lift operation that places a mesh-like material called Breform inside the breast to support the new shape. It restores breasts to their natural youthful shape, without the necessity of silicone or saline implants.

Surgeons insert the cone-shaped polyester mesh underneath the skin of the breast and attach it with stitches to the fascia, a layer of fat above the breast tissue, under a general anaesthetic. Apple iPad will launch in March in America and in UK, Brits would have to wait until June or July to get their hands on the 3G iPad. But Apple’s UK website has confirmed that it will ship in April, just days after the Wi-Fi version.

Price is still being kept under wraps for iPad. Rumours are it will cost around £400 mark, as the cheapest model with 16GB, which retails at £308 in the US. Apple prices are normally high in UK.

Orange, O2 and Vodafone are the companies thought to be in the running for streaming the 3G data. O2 had exclusivity over the iPhone to begin with and the iPad is being offered through AT&T alone in the US.

Arya Babbar, son of actor Raj Babbar is signed for Sameer Karnik’s next. The action-comedy will feature Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Dharmendra. Aarya is very fond of Deol’s and is thrilled that he is sharing screen space with them.

At the first screening of the film, Producer Krishan Chaudhery was so overwhelmed with Tanu’s performance that he gifted her a designer diamond-studded watch which he had got from Europe. The special effects thriller’s cast includes Udita Goswami and Sachin Khedekar.

Rice and Lentils cooked with veggies is called Bisi Bele Huli Anna.

Vivek’s favourite recipe is a Karnataka speciality. Bisi – hot; Bele -dal; Huli - tamarind; Anna – rice. The rice is cooked along with the sambar made from freshly ground spices.

Ingredients:
1 cup toovar (arhar) dal (washed)
1 cup uncooked rice (washed)
¼ cup French beans (chopped)
¼ cup carrots (chopped)
½ cup potatoes (cubed) 
½ cup capsicums (cubed)
½ tsp turmeric powder 
3 curry leaves
2 tbsp tamarind pulp
2 tsp oil
salt to taste
For the powdered masala:
2 tbsp chana dal 
2 tbsp urad dal 
2 sticks cinnamon (dalchini)
½ dry coconut
8 whole dry red chillies
3 tbsp coriander (dhania) seeds
1 tbsp oil
Method:
1. Boil the vegetables and keep aside. Roast the ingredients to be powdered on a medium flame till aromatic. Cool and dry. Grind them.
2. Boil 5 cups of water in a heavy-bottomed pan, add oil, turmeric powder, toovar dal, salt and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
3. Add the rice, cover and cook over medium flame for 20 minutes, till the rice and dal are cooked.
4. When the rice is cooked, add the boiled vegetables, powdered masala, curry leaves, tamarind pulp and salt, mix gently and cook further for five minutes
5. Serve hot with ghee.
